Dear dad,

One day I’m gonna be someone totally amazing & you’re gonna regret neglecting me for my whole life. You’re gonna regret all the things you’ve ever said and all the things you did or didn’t do that continuously broke (past tense) my heart. But there’s a couple things I need to thank you for.

Thanks for showing me exactly what a dad is not, and thanks for not being here. It made my relationship with momma amazing and gave me a sense of humor that no one can destroy.

So one day, when you hear about me on TV or you hear me on the radio, you’re gonna call me up and say sorry and try to get me to give in just like I used to.
